This magnificent piece is Shield in the Viking Blade Crafts Wooden Viking Shield Series, introducing a distinctive combination of warm earth-toned wood, sculpted steel detailing, wolf artwork, and a hand-stitched leather perimeter. The design moves away from conventional steel-rimmed shields and gives the natural wooden construction a more rustic and handcrafted character.

The shield is assembled from horizontally aligned solid wood planks with a warm oak-tan finish that allows the natural knots, grain patterns, and variations of the wood to remain visible. Darkened and smoke-like shading along the upper and lower edges adds additional depth to the rustic appearance.

At the center is a substantial rounded steel boss with an antiqued brass/bronze-toned finish. Radiating from the central collar are sculpted steel wing- or flame-shaped elements that create a dramatic sunburst effect around the boss.
